Are you ready to have the time of your life…again?

dirty-dancing-poster-slice-01Dirty Dancing fans, are you ready to have the time of your life? The long-awaited remake of the classic 1987 musical is finally coming to your TV screens.

It will follow the same storyline as the original, centering on Baby as she falls in love with an older, working-class dance instructor named Johnny Castle during her family’s trip to the Catskill Mountains.

Abigail Breslin, who first caught everyone’s eye in “Little Miss Sunshine,” has been tapped to play Baby.

As a fan of classics much like Dirty Dancing, I am not so much a fan of recreating old skits. We hold such high standards when watching remade movies and get let down when they aren’t as good as the original.

“I feel kind of old, but I’m also grateful because not many people get the opportunity to live this long,” Margaret told reporters.

And of course, the question everyone wants to know, What is their secret to lasting love? Margaret said it was to “live a decent life, behave yourself and be thankful.”

Stores stepping up their game

93446410.jpgShopping during the holidays can be overwhelming, whether it’s finding the right gift or the right deal, it’s sometimes hard to navigate the crowds and the “best practices” of holiday shopping.

This year, stores have decided to take a different approach: push shoppers to shop early and/ or online to avoid the stampedes and unhappiness that comes with holiday shopping.

For me, I enjoy holiday shopping- mainly because I love giving gifts. My family did, however, switch up our routine due to this change. We shopped today! Yes, today. We found that all of our favorite stores had already switched over their prices in their registers, therefore, giving us their Black Friday deal early. It was fabulous!

Note to my future self, I will be forever shopping on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Holiday commercial that is bound to make you tear up

a-german-grocery-store-commerciaA new commercial for a German supermarket has a plot twist so stunning it has some thinking grandpa might have gone a little too far in order to get the family together for Christmas.

The clippings show various members of the grandpa’s family making excuses for why they can’t make it for Christmas, leaving him to depressingly spend the holiday alone.

Later, his family is informed that “papa” has died.

Then, when the grieving family members gathers together at his home, the grandpa walks out. The reason he pulled such a horrible prank was because he thought faking his death would be the only way he could get his family together.

Research has shown that if a child is born from a mother with ebola, the chances of surviving is slim to none.

Miraculously, Nubia has beat all odds. Last Monday, she was declared ebola-free. Experimental drugs may have helped, as did the intensive attention from the staff and volunteers at the clinic.

Nubia will soon be welcomed into a large family, including many brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Target on the Naughty List

target-is-being-accused-of-trivializing-mental-illness-by-stocking-an-ocd-obsessive-christmas-disorder-holiday-sweater.jpg

As if the Starbucks Christmas controversy isn’t enough. Take a look at this new holiday sweater just recently introduced by Target. l have to admit it’s quite catchy, yet there is a fine line between what is acceptable and what is just wrong.

Since the debut, many Target shoppers have turned to Twitter to express how offended they were when they saw the sweater on the racks. One tweeter stating, “They’re selling these at Target and as someone who has struggled with OCD for six years, I’m pretty pissed off.”

As I am sure Target wanted this festive sweater line to be fun and trendy, it all boils down to their customers, and in this case, not all consumers were considered.
